About An Li Na Designs

As a child, I could never decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. At the same time, I have always dabbled in various arts and crafts. I sewed doll clothes, drew intricate geometric patterns, cross-stitched, embroidered, learned bobbin-lace, stole my dad's camera whenever possible, wrote poetry, and wrote, illustrated and bound two books.

Then I went to college to get an Electrical Engineering degree. After working as a computer engineer for the last 12 years, I've embraced the realization that my first love is Art. Creating makes me happy! I've settled in to working with paper, fabric, and various art media to create books, collages, dolls, and quilts. I LOVE color, the more the better.

I don't get to spend as much time with my art as I'd like, having the demanding day job in high tech. In my spare time, I am the president of the Austin BookWorkers, co-curate the Stretching Art and Tradition Fiber Art challenge displayed annually at the Quilters' Heritage Celebration in Lancaster, PA, and mentor a wonderful young lady through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Texas.
