I’ve been working on Dragons lately, but that’s not what this post is about.  I really wanted to get a doll done for my niece, Kate, for Christmas.  Of course, I left it too late, as I was working on adjusting my dragon pattern.  Christmas Eve night, after a long day spent with the family over at Mom and Dad’s, I came home and started a simple, soft doll for Kate.  It’s a very simple construction, done out of flannel and lightly stuffed.  It turned out really well, and only took me a couple of hours to make.

Kate loves it.  She also got a baby doll and she’s been alternating between hauling the dolls around the house and driving them in the stroller.  It’s just too cute.  She’s at the age (1 1/2) where she loves moving things.  She picks them up and carries them somewhere else, often offering them to whomever she meets.   But woe betide anyone who actually tries to take something away from her before she’s ready to offer it up.  Then all hell breaks loose!

On a different note, I participated in an art exchange and sent off one of my angels to Kathryn.  I wasn’t familiar with her before this exchange, but I found my blog after she commented here and you need to check her out!  Very cool stuff on her blog.

  1. Hi Amy. Wow what a cutie both the doll and little Kate. I love seeing Kate clutching the doll that you made her. The best presents are made from the heART. What a sweet surprise to see that you mentioned my blog on this post. Many thanks! Have a lovely day. k

  2. I finally got your birthday card finished. Check it out! I love you, mom
